    The Gemara (Sanhedrin 97b) states:

    ??? ??? ??? ?????: ?? ??? ????? ?????, ??? ??????? ??? ???”? ????? ??? ??? ???????? ???? ???? – ?????? ????? ?????, ??????? ?????.

Can there be a doubt that the king in question is Hitler ym”s? In particular in light of Megilla 6a-b (and see Yaavetz):

    ???? ??? ???? ??? ????? {?????? ??-?} ?? ??? ?’ ????? ??? ???? ?? ??? ????? ??? ??? ???? ???? ???”? ????? ?? ???? ?? ??? ???? ???? ???? ??? ???? ?? ??? ?? ?????? ?? ???? ?????? ?? ?????? ??????? ?? ????? ???? ???? ??? ??? ?? ????? ??? ??? ????? ??? ???? ???????. ?? ???? ???? ??? ?????? ????? ?????? ???? ????? ???? ???? ???? ??? ???? ??? ?????? ?? ??????? ??????? ?????? ????

What is the process of Am Yisrael’s teshuva? The Tora (Devarim 30, 5-6) describes two stages: first return to Eretz Yisrael and then return to Tora:

    ?) ????????? ?’ ????? ?? ????

    (?) ??? ?’ ????? ?? ???? ??? ??? ???? ????? ?? ?’ ????? ??? ???? ???? ???? ???? ???

We now see that it is incontrovertible that the State of Israel ????? ????? ???????.

And yet I will still walk out of any shul that slips in that specious inference under the guise of a blessing for the jewish government. Go figure. In the past, false moshiach would appeal based on his broad mastery of torah and charismatic ability to unite. Your false moshiach doesn’t even have any of that.

No. What you see as “incontrovertible” is deluded (due to idolatry) and simply illogical, even if the sources in reality do imply what you claim.

First some basic facts, as per our gedolim.

The heretical (and disastrous on so many levels) State of Israel has pushed off the geula, CH”V. The “Reishis Tzemichas Geulaseinu” Zionist fantasy was based on a fraud, so that’s nonsense in and of itself.

    Next, we have your sources.

Germany was definitely terrible to the Jews in WW II. (The Zionists did their part, too, but that is somewhat tangential here.)

Regarding the returning to Eretz Yisrael, there could certainly be a limited return to Eretz Yisrael before Mashiach comes. Individual Jews have the right to live in E”Y so long as their move to E”Y does not constitute an aliya biChoma and violate the oaths, CH”V. Political sovereignty is strictly forbidden due to dechikas haKeitz, so that rules out the State as a non-starter, Zionist fantasies not withstanding.

So this is irrelevant to the State; you’ve conflated living in E”Y and, lihavdil, the heretical State of Israel, which is typical of Zionists, whether “Religious Zionist” or otherwise.

The Brisker Rav stated that had the Jews in 1948 davened for the true geulah then they would have gotten that and Mashiach would have come. But since they davened for this heretical State of Israel instead, Hashem gave them that instead. This was the reason the State unfortunately came into being and also what severely derailed your “incontrovertible proof”.

In other words, after the great suffering from Germany, we would have had Mashiach in the 1940s, but, instead, the “Religious” Zionists (and perhaps others, liChaOra) ruined it by davening for this idol State instead of davening for, lihavdil, Mashiach.

At this point, instead of Mashiach, you have a State that has cost rivers of Jewish blood to create and maintain, not to mention the shmad of hundreds of thousands of acheinu binei Yisrael. And after all those human sacrifices on the altar of Zionism, the Zionists need their citizens to be armed as they walk around the streets so that they can ward off the savages with knives, etc. Hashem Yishmor, and they want to spend Billions (with a “B”) of dollars to turn the Zionist paradise into one big ghetto. In other words, the State has, of course, been a tremendous failure (at best) both spiritually and physically, despite the scientific awards, etc. of the Jews there. Yet you still believe in this idol.

As the Brisker Rav noted, the State they have managed to achieve is the greatest triumph of the Satan since the cheit haEigel. Nothing since the Eigel has topped this. Yet you maintain this fantasy that the State was a good thing in spite of this and in spite of the multitude of massive disasters that the State has wrought on Klal Yisrael.

As mentioned before, if anyone wonders how it is possible that only 600 people in all of Klal Yisrael did not bow down to the baal idol in the time of Eliyahu HaNavi, one need only look at Zionism today to understand.

    Avi,

“Can there be any doubt that the king in question is Hitler ym”s”

Of course there can! Did hitler make bnei yisrael do Yeshiva? The answer is obviously no, due to people going off the derech

Squeak, if you live in Israel you are over on divrei kabbla (Yirmiahu 29,7). If not you are in effect saying that either you do not want Hashem to send his light to its leaders and/or you do not want peace and happiness for its residents. This is a violation of v’ahavta l;reicha kemocha.

    HaKatan,

    1. On the contrary, sovereignty is a Tora obligation.

    2. Jewish blood (“rivers” is a tremendous exaggeration) were shed by the Arabs and indirectly by the British. The sun set on their empire. The Turks also lost their empire when they tried to interfere.

    3. At least in Israel citizens can arm themselves. In America there is no defense against the crazies. Even pepper spray and mace are severely restricted in the US and in Canada they are illegal.

    3. Are you saying that the Satan acts contrary to Hashem’s wishes? This is religious dualism.

Coffee Addict, do you have another candidate for the king in question? What other leader has set out to destroy the entire Jewish people?

As I’ve previously noted, if the medina is the mashiach we’ve been waiting 2000 years for, it’s have been better to have just converted to Christianity back then.

    Avi K,

You are seeing what you want to see. Personally, I don’t mind the prayer for the Medinah, EXCEPT those words ????? ????? ???????

If you want to daven for Hashem to help the Jews of the Medinah then good, but no one knows Hashem’s plan for the Geulah. Maybe the beginning of the Geulah started when the Talmidai haGRA went to E”Y. Maybe at the beginning of Yeshivat Porat Yosef. Maybe it did not happen yet. None of us knows.

First of all, like I said before, maybe that king has not arrived yet. Besides which, the Persians could make good candidates now for that evil position.

AviK, you lost me from the very first sentence you quoted. Surely you can see on your own that simplistic interpretation of the words of people who were light years ahead of us in wisdom and understanding (in Nigleh & Nistar) is vacuous and futile.

Yes there was a ruler whose decrees were tragically like Haman’s. But did he bring us back to the true good path and cause us to do Teshuva? Unfortunately not. Of course it’s not for us to judge, but the sad fact is that many survivors left Torah and mitzvah observance behind when they began their lives anew.

    hmmm…. let’s see…..

    IRAN! Khamenei

anyways even if I didn’t have one that doesn’t make Hitler Ym”s it, if you asked the question 100 years ago they would’ve said stalin etc.

In other words just because you can’t think of someone doesn’t mean that someone knew can’t be it (let’s say someone born now and try to kill all the Jews in 20 years)

I hope I’m being clear, I find a lot of times I’m not

Do any of us have ruach hakodesh that allows us to say b’vadai that Medinas Yisroel is reshis tzemichas geulaseinu? I’ve yet to see any serious supports for this claim about Medinas Yisroel.

The confusion that this generation is subject to is mind boggling and terribly tragic.

Klal Yisroel was/is given the “Eretz Yisroel project” opportunity three times.

    1) After Yetzias Mitzrayim

    2) Prior to Bayis Sheni

    3) Prior to Bayis Shlishi

The Torah/Navi/Ksuvim make it very clear that this not a picnic where all parties live happily ever after. Rather its a very painful and challenging process. This process is a national responsibility to make it happen and not one that Hashem hands us on a silver platter.

For the majority of 2000 years of Golus, this task was irrelevant, however one must be foolish to deny the opportunity we are being handed today with the new reality in Eretz Yisroel. There are more Jews living in Eretz Yisroel than anywhere else in the world. We all accept responsibility and work very hard to do Mitzvos, not do Aveiros, be mechanech our children, support our families etc. etc. why do we expect the greatest era and Zenith and culmination of 3500 years of Jewish History to be any different?

All who delegitimize this new reality of our era are present day Meraglim. instead of complaining, perhaps get involved!

    To simplify ;

    1) The Torah places an overwhelming emphasis on Eretz Yisroel

    2) The Torah makes it clear that its a lot of work

    3) Facing reality we see the opportunity is once again at hand.

    4) Stop complaining / blaming and start doing.

What about ikvasa demishicha why does that pronouncement which many many gedolim have made take any less ruach hakodesh than “reshis tzemichas geulaseinu.

Also is there a difference between “”reshis tzemichas geulaseinu.” and “aschalta degeulah”?

Coffee Addict, what other ruler planned to destroy ALL of Am Yisrael? The Iranians do not want to kill Jews. Their restrictions on their own Jews do not come near those of the Nazis. Their goal is to Islamize the world. Thus they are more like Antiochus.

Golfer, the first teshuva is returning to EY(see “Em HaBnaim Semeicha”) . The Nazi laws caused a wave of aliya among Jews who had considered themselves completely German. The Holcaust caused another wave and was according to all opinions the deciding factor in the UN’s decision to create a Jewish state. It also removed the objections of politically powerful American Jews who were worried about the effect on their status as Americans. The second teshuva is returning to observance. B’chasdei Hashem we are seeing this in our generation.

DR, you saw the opening post of this thread. When Rav Herzog was in DC to ask FDR to bomb the tracks leading to the camps the latter urged him to stay in the US as Rommel was already at the gates of Egypt. Rav Herzog described the Jewish settlement in EY as the Third Temple and said that it will not be destroyed. At the same time that Rommel was defeated and turned back at El Alamein the Germans were so defeated at Stalingrad.

Avi – missionaries do an even better job of proving things than you and we don’t follow them. If your leaders want followers from the torah world then perhaps one of the goals should be a torah society. You’re not going to convince anyone just with spurrious claims of being moshiach incarnate.

Squeak, we all want a Tora society but we NRs do not tell Hashem how to bring it about.

    Time,

    1. See the introduction to Messilat Yesharim about chazara.

    2. I will ask for another candidate for the third time. Maybe if I ask enough times someone will come up with a name.

    3. “,Probably ,it’s in spite of the State,(and possibly would have happened swifter minus a state)” – so you also know better than Hashem?

    4. Iy”H when I think of another one I will start it. This was the result of a shiur in which I participated.

Medinas Yisroel is not redemptive. If anything, it probably lengthens our galus. I wish Israel well, but as someone who follows the views of the bulk of the gedolim, how could I be a Zionist? The irony is that even as far as more modern gedolim go, Rav Hirsch was very opposed to Zionism.
