Last year i saw a man and a lady both dressed in black suits with white gloves, tall hats (like magicians) and their baby in a car seat dressed like a rabbit.

Last year my neighbor's kid was a vending machine. You put in a quarter & got a small bag of candy. It was made out of a cardboard box. It was really cute!

  5. I saw someone who sewed two shirts together-one side was a white button down shirt, black suit pants, and black shoes. The other side was a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. His kippa was one side velvet and one side srugi. The best part was his hair-one side was short with peyos behind the ear, the other was normal mo-dox hair. Crazy costume.

my cousin dressed up completely backwards (venahapuch hu?) one year. everything from pants, shirt, tie, jacket, hat, everything was put on backwards.
last year i was an french artist: french burrette, thin, long mustache, a small paint pallette attached to my wrist, long paint brush sticking out of my shirt pocket.

I know someone who dressed up as Siamese father-in-law and son-in-law---- I won't go into details for fear of insulting anyone but it was HILARIOUS!!!
Someone else I know was an Arab one year. He was actually very convincing. He's Sefardi and has a short black beard. He got a lot of weird looks (I live in Monsey, where the Arab population doesn't exist.)
Then there was my brother the girl. He was actually extremely convincing. He wore my sister's clothes and he would go to his friends and whenever there was someone else at the door he wouldn't tell who he was, just that he wanted to give the shalach manos to, say, Shmuli. One of his friend's mothers told him that this must be a mistake, because HER son didn't talk to girls!

  15. One time I heard of someone who dressed as a Arab and had shaloch manos that looked like bombs. He walked up to someones house and put down the "bomb" next to the door. The neighbors got so scared that they called the police and had the street blocked off.

    LOL, rescue37, that's great!

blackhatwannabe: I hope that wasn't in E"Y. That would make it idiotic! In the states, just distastful and not even funny. But I could see certain boys going for that kind of shtick.

Loving Eretz Yisroel more and more each day

coffee addict: It was kind of a last minute decision on his part, anyway--- his original costume was ruined (he made a white beard out of cotton balls and it fell in the mud). This was a last ditch effort.

My cousin's family does themes. One year, they were all characters from the Wizard of Oz. The oldest girl was Dorothy, then came the Tin Man (homemade costume--- it was actually really good), then Glinda, then the baby was the Cowardly Lion. Then another year (after the last Summer Olympics) my 8-year-old cousin was Michael Phelps! He thought it was funny to be a swimmer. It was a really easy costume--- he went around in his bathrobe and a bathing cap and goggles.
My neighbor was also once a snowman one year when there was still snow. I actually couldn't tell she wasn't a real snowman. I got kinda freaked out when I saw it move.

    Blackhat,

    Re: the arab,

He should've used the popping elite chocolate and firebomb candy

    That would've been THE BOMB

I saw this family of Geirim once. They dressed up like goyish holidays' personalities; the father was Santa, the mother was a witch (Halloween), and their kid was the Easter bunny.

    GOING TO ATERES!!

my cousin was a twister man. She had a cloak and red heels and the board was like her hat. very cute.
my sister was a tzedddakah box.
my parents one year dressed up together as black and whitw. they got a white suit and a black suit, cut it in half and sewed one half black and one white half together. for my mothers skirt, she used the suit pants and opened the inside seam. they had bent down hats spray painted half white and my father had a black and white tie. shoes were black and white. VERY COOL!!

last year my father was a scottish guy. he hired a real costume including that skirt (think its called a kilt?) he had the funniest facial hair. it was rely good.

he has also been a jester and a chinese guy and old guy and charlie chaplin.
my father is a perfectionist so for example. the chinese guy he had a bald cap properly glued on and eye make up to look chinese etc. he also hired the whole costume so it was AMAZNG!!!!
