Even assuming that this story is true (false things are said in the name of gedolim all the time
After 9/11 I heard in a lecture from a recognized Rav in Flatbush.
Someone who had been in one of the towers came to him to discuss the “miracle” of his being saved. The Rav commented “that’s called hashgocho pratis. A miracle would have been if the planes missed the towers. It’s not a miracle if there is tragedy.”

    And I think that’s dumb.

Agreed with HaLeiVi. The guy saved from the WTC experienced a miracle. Hands down.

The point of this story is to show the great manhig hador. Harav Chaim in his great kedusha was able to tell someone don’t worry it will be fine. Why can we see this as the great story it is?

Perhaps we dont know all the facts with the guy “saved” from the WTC. Perhaps he was on the 2nd floor when the plane hit instead of his office on the upper floors and was able to evacuate. Was his being on the 2nd floor miraculous or hashgacha pratis? Perhaps that is what the Rav was talking to him about and it is not relevent to the story here.

the problem here is the way the story was protested by the people telling it over here. rav kaniesvky is a gadol but the issue here is saying that there was some miracle done for this person in the form of the officer getting killed to save him from going to court and relating the story like that is wrong and distasteful. now if it was just protrayed to focus on the fact that the rav had Ruach hakodesh and that because of that we see his greatness that would be one thing but it wasn’t and that’s why people are not seeing that point and o my seeing the negative which I can’t blame them for……as far as the miracle here not knowing the facts on that guys case and from u understand the meaning of a miracl, this was not one. saying this does not take away from rav kanievsky greatness.

Coffee, the dying Hebrews were unrelated to the miracle.
Joseph, in this case as well.

    But, was Chanukah a miracle?

HaLeiVi, yes, in this case it was a miracle as well. I agree(d).

Yeah, Joseph, right “Nochrim”, non-people. That’s why when Yidden are slaughtered goyim say “Jews”, sneer nonchalantly and move on to the next beer.

Right, JO. So you love them in a way they hate us, as you stated in your comment. How much sleep did FDR lose over Hitler slaughtering the Jews?
