I think i might have heard something like this a little while back...

Hi.
1) “anonymisss”s answer. I like that one best.
2) “ambush” and “an open book”s answer. Makes sense.
3) They look at each other. Clean-face (CF) says to Dirty-face (DF) “your face is dirty”. Is mine?” DF replies “no”. DF washes, CF doesn’t.
4) CF sees DF’s face, and vice-versa. CF goes to the sink to wash up. He sees his face is clean in the mirror above the sink and doesn’t wash. Neither washes.
5) CF sees DF’s face and goes to the sink to wash up. DF realizes why CF is washing up, so he washes up, too. Both wash.
6) It’s impossible that they both descended the same chimney, one remaining spotlessly clean and the other getting dirty. Since this didn’t really happen, neither washes.Posted 6 years ago # -
icot: hate to say it, but you are starting to sound like bill clinton with your giving every possible answer to one question. lol

6) It IS possible that they both went down the same chimney and one stayed clean while the other got dirty. The first one wiped all the soot onto his own face and clothes on his way down, so that the second one came through clean. Once they both arrived and saw one was clean and the other dirty, they had a stira. Is this a chimney that makes one dirty or is it a chimney that does not make one dirty? They realized that this could not be immediately resolved and that they needed to wait for the "kosuv hashlishi" to be "machri'a beineihem". Unfortunately, chimney flues are very narrow so it is not likely that anyone else will be able to fit down it after them. Therefore, Teiku

squeak-
Excellent drosho/pshat!

icot is right actually
nice drosho squeak

squeak- I have a poshiter Teretz- Lichoirah pshat is that the chimney Be'etzem makes you dirrty BUT since it's work already affected one of them- a.k.a DF therefore according to your pshat now it's potential has changed into a non-dirty making chimney because the soot has been wiped off but that was only due to the fact that DF had gone down it. So as I said the real potential of the chimney is to make you dirty but DF is being Meakev that potential which doesn't change the Metzius...
Anyone followed???
(brings back the good yeshiva days!!!)

The reason why one is clean is because he said perek shira for 40 days in a row as a segulah for staying clean ;)

noitallmr: Its not so pashut. We need to clarify if the potential of the dirty chimmeny can change to that of the non DF making chimmeny
There is also the problem that it may take more than one DF to change the chimmeny to the potential to that of non DF making.
It can all be solved using this formula: DC + X(DF) = CF. Dirty chimmeny plus x amount of DF's = a CF.
Now since every chimeny is diffrent we cannot judge how many DF's it will take to change the potential.
But why are we bothering with all these complicated situations when we can just say that DF went down straight and CF went down inside a glass box?
Although there still remains the question of how they are not hurt. So either we can answer its because they were lowered slowly (which is not what it sounds like) or we can answer that they did get hurt but since it does not affect what we are discussing we neglected to mention it
noitallmr: You said i should feel free to get involoved. So i did ;)
