hey ames- they didn't post my harry potter post either! They don't judge fairly- first they put up 3 posts with HP content, then all HP posts get deleted. THE MODS NEED RULES
Posted 3 years ago # -
ames, could you please please call him by his name, moish? It's really bothering me, this MO business. Let him at least keep his Jewish name.
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
ames, you've shown that you do sincerely care about him. Does it not bother you to disregard his jewish name? I'm really having trouble understanding why you would want to call him MO.
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
anonymisss - because she expects anyone named "moish" to be a carbon copy of moshe rabbanu and i'm not.
ames - i really don't care what you call me so do whatever you want it really doesn't bother me. but just by the way "moish" is already a nickname for "moshe" so what's the difference between "marvin" "mo" "matt" and "moish?" just a thought.

areivim: thanx
Posted 3 years ago # -
I agree with anonymiss.
Posted 3 years ago # -
ames" i'm with anonymisss as well, please call him moish!!!!
Posted 3 years ago # -
ha ha i really DON'T care. i was just wondering what the logic behind it was.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Well, ames, if you're going to use that arguement, then I'll follow you on those lines. You post under the screen name ames, and I call you ames. I use the screen name anonymisss, and you call me anonymisss. Moish posts under the screen name moish, so can we please call him moish?
The truth is, though, that if he identifies himself with a jewish name, why ever would you want to deprive him of that? I really can't understand it.
A related thought from the parsha-
Three things saved bnei yisroel in mitzrayim:- they didn't change their language
they didn't change their dress
they didn't change their names- language-Well, yes, we all speak English, but seems from the moderators that the language is not always up to YWN standards.
dress-From the way moish describes himself, I guess he doesn't dress like he just stepped out of yeshiva.
names-Won't you have the heart to please let him keep at least that?~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
thanks anonymisss. i see you have real high standards for me. very encouraging.
jk it's ok
Posted 3 years ago # -
Mazal is my Hebrew name. I am kind of glad when other poster use it to reply. Don't worry, it isn't connected at all to the name people usually call me by. I ain't tellin, so no one better be guessin.
Posted 3 years ago # -
on that note i think we should allow him to dress like a bachur and talk like one too ;)
Posted 3 years ago # -
Sorry, moish, but none of that defines you, as a person. I know for a fact, (especially from the davening thread,) that you are a good person. Yes, we all struggle with things. Believe me, if you would've known me five years ago, that all applied to me, (and more.) Now, it doesn't. Fast forward five years for you, and I hope we will say the same. None of that defines who you are, it's only a current description. (I probably could've been your girlfriend.)

Oh, and moish, btw, that wasn't directed at you. I'm just not sure where exactly she's coming from, so, out of exasperation, I may have come across a bit more harshly than I intended. I'm really sorry about that.
With sincere contriteness (if that's a word),

ames, I have a (very, very) farfetched proposition for you...
this is the CR, and we're very chilled out and all, so why not revise Mo, to Mo-Man (if hes really 16 as he is saying, just think that a 16 year old female could be known as a young lady, so hes a young man [does anyone apprieciate my extensive biological knowledge?] We are all frum jews, so next lets switch to hebrew, now lets call him Mo-Ish, now lets remove the hyphen (sp?) thereby bringing us back to where we started from, Moish now when anyone says Moish, they'll be reffering to him by his real name and you'll just be calling him Mo-Man... so how did I do?
Posted 3 years ago # -
ames, not him! i have to bribe my sisters to shut him off!
shkoyach, thanks for the permission! i actually do wear a white shirt once in a while- i still own them!
anonymisss, how many girlfriends do you think i go through? seems like every girl on here is saying "ten years ago I could have been yours..."
kapusta: anyone ever tell you you're a crack-pot?
Posted 3 years ago # -
moish01: your comment to anonymisss has got me laughin hard!!!
Posted 3 years ago # -
glad i could be of help, buddy
Posted 3 years ago # -
moish01: yeah thanx buddy!!!!!
Posted 3 years ago # -
hello iseems like i missed some innterestingf stuff.
Posted 3 years ago # -
ames, I mind if i'm called MoIsh! what kinda retarded spelling is that?!
Posted 3 years ago # -
qwertyuiop: ya we missed ya!!!!
Posted 3 years ago # -
moish, I sure hope they're not disposable!!! All I meant to say was - been there done that. Got it?
shkoyach: Agree, 100%
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
anonymisss - "able to be disposed of?" yes. but no i'm not that kind of guy.
and yeah i got it i just thought it was funny that you're the third girl that said that. are there ANY girls or guys that CAN'T relate at all? i always wonder - what about those really straight guys who shteig all day? and those really frum girls?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Moish, aka Mo-ish -you know, i think im enjoying this...-
gee whiz, anyone ever tell you youre sweet?
and BTW, in my defense, there was a "sort of" warning/disclaimer in the beginning of the thread...
Posted 3 years ago # -
sorry i meant in the beginning of the post
Posted 3 years ago # -
Moish/MoIsh
who asked you? this was between me and ames
Posted 3 years ago # -
kapusta - that was kind of random. yeah once in a blue moon i get that... usually from one of my grandmothers...
Posted 3 years ago # -
good to hear that you're not that kind of guy. And don't know about people who can't relate to that.
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
gee thanks. so now i have no say in what i'm called. oh well i'll learn to deal. and ignore:)
Posted 3 years ago # -
anonymisss - come on! like you know those close-minded "in a box" kind of people? like the rebbe that had a freak attack when my tfillin went on at 10:00 and i wanted to say "dude - this is more than i've done in three months!"
Posted 3 years ago # -
Oooooo, that's tough!!! You mean those kind of people. Yeah, they were one of my biggest challenges and "turn off". People don't appreciate what you do, it's only what you don't do that gets noticed. Like please tell me that my skirt's too tight, why can't you just be happy that my knees are covered?????????? I know that and it doesn't make you want to continue doing whatever good thing you were doing. The only way I was able to deal with it was to ignore and tell myself that I'm right and they're wrong!!!

Posted 3 years ago # -
moish: that's pretty funny, you put teffilin on later then me!$
Posted 3 years ago # -
but not much later.$
Posted 3 years ago # -
qwertyuiop - that's on the "good" days. you're allowed to put them on all day, right?
Posted 3 years ago # -
don't worry i got him back. he once stopped me in the hallway at school (in front of a million guys) and asked if i smoke. i said "why you need a light?" ... never saw him so mad in my LIFE! and trust me, he gets mad. it was pretty funny.
Posted 3 years ago # -
good ames, now youre getting it!
Moish-I was just being nice there, but watch it dont get on my bad side or you'll have to fear the big bad I in middle of a name...
no you have no say, there I said it, its official, happy now?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Yes, moish, definitely better put them on at 4:00 than not put them on at all. (and btw, I once asked a rav this question)
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
moish-thats hysterical
Posted 3 years ago # -
I have to admit, that's pretty funny, moish. You behave yourself, buddy boy, alright?
~a~
Posted 3 years ago # -
i ALWAYS behave. how many times do i have to tell you that?
no trust.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Moish-LOL! literally
anonymisss- It drives me crazy when teachers will say they walk down the streets of wherever it is and see so many people who are not dressed the way theyre "supposed to be" (not ever directed at me) everythings relative, everything starts from the inside sometimes I want to get up and tell them that the basis of chinuch is how to be a good person, its not the point about how you dress (I mean that over here-please dont take out of context) and they are most certainly not showing how to be one- im with you 100% on this

OK, here we go. when thid thread started 1 month or ten pages ago and some 375plus entries including the deleted entries it was a warm Decemeber day and charlie brown was enjoying it. today is cold does anybody enjoy the cold?
Posted 3 years ago # -
72 - Yes! I do! Snow, ice, running outdoors without dripping sweat, skiing, tubing, igloos, snowball fights!
And I love the spring and fall and summer too. What's there not to love about the outdoors?

nighty night sweet dreams, hope you remembered to say krias shema.
Posted 3 years ago # -
moderator-72: don't you know that "the weather" is the topic of conversation used in order to pass time? to make small talk. so this thread is another way of saying "general shmooze"
ha i SHOULD be a lawyer one day
Posted 3 years ago # -
moish:2 funny what ya told your rebbe!!!
moish: yes all day you could put on tefillin!!!!
mod72: let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!!!!!!!!Posted 3 years ago # -
