Goq, I'm sorry I've been away, and I appreciate you noticing it. I don't think I'm going to be part of this forum for a while. Many of the nicest, most wonderful posters here have left, leaving this place quite dreary and shallow. And I always felt that I put much more into this forum than what I got back from it. Honestly, this place is nothing like the way it was a few months ago. Perhaps I'll be back when some of the others return, or when the atmosphere here gets better. Good-bye for now, and good luck with everything.
Posted 3 years ago # -
ok MP im sorry your leaving best of luck with everything come back any time.
Posted 3 years ago # -
MP- I'm sorry you've come to the decision to leave. I once tried leave and IIRC, it was bpt who said very well that when things point toward (in this case) leaving, its time to really start. I can not tell you what to do but I will say this; even though I haven't always agreed on things with you, your comments are always pleasant to read and that's worth a lot. I would also add that you've given many people (especially on the poetry thread) support and I'm sure it's noticed. Lots of Hatzlacha with everything.
Posted 3 years ago # -
MP - don't listen to the white noise! Lots of good people are still here and have meaningful discussions. I don't know who in particular you are missing (and please don't say, I think it is hard for us rejects to hear), but many of the 'golden oldies' are alive and posting on the tachlis threads. Perhaps you weren't getting the responses you want, but many like myself read more than we post. I wish everyone an internet free life, but if you are posting, please post here as well.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Goq: Thanks for the welcome! (sort of belated, seeing as I posted on this thread about three weeks ago, but whatever). :)
I personally sometimes feel a bit strange commenting sometimes a) because most of the posters on here are older and (possibly (: ) wiser than me. I feel like what I would say would be redundant and/or just plain stupid. Even so, I do stand by what I said on the medina thread.
Also, if all the posts I wrote and then just xed out of without posting them were posted, I'd easily be the most prolific poster on the whole site :).Posted 3 years ago # -
writersoul - I feel SOOOO exactly like that most of the time! (except for being younger)
Posted 3 years ago # -

Welcome aboard Shnooky and mazel tov on your bar mitzvah!
Posted 3 years ago # -
I hear a mazel tov is in order, Shnooky. :)
Posted 3 years ago # -
Hi Shnooky!! How about checking out this thread:
http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/why-did-shnooky-wait-25-years-to-get-bar-mitzvah. Maybe you can answer the question?? :)Posted 3 years ago # -
Hi guys, I've decided to come back for now. I realized that while staying away may have been a good thing, I think that is not the way to solve anything. Running away doesn't help. Learning how to live with it, in a way that makes it a positive experience, does help. And I'm sorry for what I said about the atmosphere here, it was quite rude. There are still so many wonderful people here, and I apologize to them if they were hurt by my words.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Welcome back! You were missed.

The YWNCFWW proudly welcomes back red nails!!!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Welcome back mp, and long nails!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Goq reckel is german/yidish for jacket. A long, knee length jacket such as the attire of most chassidim is known as a long jacket or a "langer reckel". If it has 2 buttons on the back and a slit up the back, with one corner rounded off to exempt it from tzitzis as many litvishe gedolim wear, then it is known as a frak.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Oh wow shticky thanks for filling me in your a fountain of information.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Someone great (don't know if he'd have wanted to be credited here) said that a "frak" is like an ambulance: has 2 back doors and screeches!
Posted 3 years ago # -
Kapusta,
Haven't seen you around much lately.
