Last year there was a heave PR campaign for the Vhaarev Na learning program. Can somewhat explain what it’s about? It’s not exactly a chiddush how important chazarah is. What makes this program so special/innovative?

Or is it just a lot of noise about something which is obvious (the importance of chazarah), not that that is a bad idea!

I’ve just been looking through it. It looks really good. I need to read through properly to see how it works. Is there anyone on here who’s joined this program?

If you google vhaarevna, you will find a website which explains it in detail.

SOT, can you explain what the program is? In what way is it more than just chazering?

G613, the website doesn’t really explain what the program is, it just says that it’s focused on chazarah.

It takes the average bachur, who would much rather do other things then gemara, and the program challenges you to chazer over and over again the bikius masechta, until it’s so fluent that it’s sweet.

Right away, every day you have to chaser that days gemara three times. For Shabbos and Bein Hazmanim there’s a big “kiddush” with food, and each bachur makes a kabala how much he’s going to learn. Also, every once in a while there’s a retzufas seder (chazering for a certain amount of time straight).

If you saw their video from last years siyum, my son was the one who was doodling on a piece of paper while sitting with his chavrusah. He spent the last year in Israel and returned 2 days ago for Peach. He is now spending his days off learning with Rabbi Dovid Newman of Shaarei Torah who ran the very successful program here in Monsey. In my opinion, that is enough to say that it works, but no need to take my word for it. Anyone who wants to know anything about the program can just ask and I will give you my sons number and you can call him yourself.

    Dear Shraga18,
I myself am a bachur in a veery prestigous Yeshiva and am doing Vharav na this year. To say it has changed my life would be quite the understatement. I walked into yeshiva this year without a purpose but after out first “Powershteig” i can truly say my life has meaning for the first time. I can really say I have a new best friend, and that is my Bekius gemrah! R Dovid Newman shlita is an absolute legend and shtells. ANYONE WHO DOES VHAREV NA IS IS A PRINCE OF KLAL YISROEL AND IS ROYALTY! Btw watch the video of youtube.
