Egged bus will be more than happy to drive you to Gedolim.

They drove me to meet the Steipler during Adar 1985, and they are still in the business of driving people around.

As to what you should do this summer:- Go to the Kossel and maximize your time in the Rova haYehudi.

It is wonderful to get to see Gedolei Yisroel. Their brochos are certainly desirable. But, please, pretty please, do NOT make them into tourist attractions. These are tzaddikim who are busy learning Torah and fulfilling many aspects of Avodas Hashem. They are not background for pictures of your vacation.

I believe that they would be happier that you spend your time in your own Torah and Mitzvos, rather than coming to be a foreign spectator.

Oh so just have gadol day to get it over with. How nice. If I were you I would actually ask them for some spiritual guidance a bracha is great but they can give us guidance in what to improve in our avodas Hashem and how to do it.

There are so many things you can do. You can visit kevarim on Har Hemenuchos- there’s 2 chelkas Rabbonim sections. You can go tour the Old city, go to the kosel (that’s a must). You can go up north and visit tzfas.

If you’re a male – Find a seat in the Mir, and learn. Prepare R’ Osher’s shiur and go to it.

Idunno, I’m just picturing “oh, so I’ll go to Rav X now- I have five minutes over there (if it takes longer than that it’s really not worth it) before I have to get to the Xer Rebbe. If I run out of time I’ll just skip Harav Y- he’s not SO chashuv.”

    Sorry, ani lo meivinah.

If you know someone who can take you in to see Rav Aharon Leib Shteinman, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, or another major gadol, then go. If not, chances are you will be waiting for hours just for the Rov to show up and there’s a 50/50 shot that he won’t. Then you may have two or three minutes to ask him anything, but chances are you’ll just get a quick brocha.

Just take your sisters to the Kosel and say tehillim for 7 hours. It takes the same amount of time and accomplishes so much more.

Make gadol visiting day, day 1 of your trip and ask them what you should do to maximize the time during the remainder of your trip.

Definitely see a mekubal. The cheap ones are ok, but if you want to really connect with your neshama in a way that will allow you to grow and reach your potential, it is gonna cost you big bucks–and it’s worth every penny.

Today is cyber monday though, see if you can find any advertising a sale.

    LOL, Popa.

I’m thinking you should consider the profession for yourself.

You can be the first Mekubal to offer those cyber monday deals.

And Tzfas is such a beautiful place to live.

    Those views…

writersoul when i said i was only going to visit gedolim for a day i meant i wasn’t going to spend 5 hours with Rav Kanievsky and then go to Rav Karelitz. I meant i was only going to spend 25 minutes with Rav Kanievsky.

Umm, you’ll be lucky if you shake his hand, mumble something and he will respond “Bracha V’Hatzlacha” (and he might tell you to take your payos out from behind your ears, take off your watch and if your not married yet-a quick bracha for a zivvug hagon!) And thats IF you get in!!

I got in with connections (son-in-law) and got a quick hand shake.

I also went to R’ Shteinman and he hheld my hand for a couple of moments and then – NEXT.

Enjoy your visit to EY (and don’t forget to “do” the Kotel [C”V])

Reb Chaim (as we European yiedden call Rav Kanievsky Shlita) told a friend of mine that he should be able to afford long sleeves for his son,(who was wearing a short sleeve collared shirt).

R’ kanievsky told a friend of mine too to dress his boys in long sleeves, he also told the father that wearing his watch night be loi tilbash.

R’ Dovid solovaitchik promised y friend that if he sits and learns he will be matzliach.

My Fathe rgot a bracha then I was waiting for Bracha V’hatzlacha Reb Chaim started fathering me on the masechta I was learning at the time. WH en Reb Chaim asked me what my name was, where I learn, and what I am learning I totally blanked out I was so nervous.
