Chazal derive from D’vorim 17:15 that only Jewish born males are permitted to ascend to positions of authority and power.

1)Salome Alexandra( the sister of Shimon ben Shetach) was the best ruler that we had for hundreds of years both prior and ever since

Chazal spoke of her era with nostalgia as the greatest time of peace, prosperity and abundance since the days of King Solomon

Do you imagine they would’ve considered that a justification allowing a daughter to succeed her??

Does that mean they define her reign as queen of any less than exigency; sha’as h’dchak??

2)It seems they (and Rabbi Aviner )consider populist prorportional party democracy anyway to be really, really less than a legitimate source of

    authority and power

Well, they turn and support dati women in Knesset , because it’s better to have women who espouses our religious then secularist men

    But we are digressing
