    My mazal, I managed to be completely without internet connection over chanuka... after all that talk of parties and suggestions. Can everyone fill me in on what I missed (and anyone else who missed it too)??? Thank you! keep it short sweet and to the point kind of like a refresher.
    Shkoyach! :)

    shkoyach,
    here's a recap based on my memory. Everyone else please add whatever I missed, I'm sure I'm missing tons!

    mod99 tried to eat too many donuts and ended up falling asleep on his couch and then needing a trip to south florida to recuperate.

    curious became the official ywn artist.

    I got drunk because I accidentaly thought it was purim and drank bourbon instead of eating latkes.

    Brooklyn19 has become the life of the coffee room. And the most brilliant one here. (just kidding!!!)

    There was very little mud slinging and flaming here, which is a good thing. I hope that continues.

    everyone in the coffee room got together for an anonymous get together and chanuka party in a secret hidden bunker in Ireland.

    aw shucks... not like me to miss a party! Thanks charlie for filling me in. I started to read the links but 10 pages is a lot to swallow at once! Thanks Charlie for the recap... sounds like I really missed a party. Purim?? Drunk??? Did I miss something or is my calendar a few months slow?? Hey no complaints... a purim party will do just fine with me no matter how early it is! I am all for it! Did YWN play chanuka music in the end?? AS for the mods... so 72 is 72 b/c something about a jersey (i glanced at that on the thread)??? What in heaven??? Do we have like a virtual YWN Basketball game too that I'm not aware of? I'm sorry to hear abt 99's sleeping thru the party on the couch. I hope it was comfy at least!
    As for bklyn19 being the life of the party.. I dunno- is this so good for your shidduchim? DO your students kno you're hanging out and being loud on YW? And how in the world do you have so much time to be hocking all day on YW when you teach?? I'm just teasing- it probably feels very good to be the center of attn on YW, would you like to report live abt how it feels to be a YW celebrity?

    Hey, what abt the new mods.... did they end up taking intrviews like they said to wait and see over chanuka??? keep the info pouring in and I'd like to officially welcome me back to the hock cuz I feel out of it!!

    my students are learning to never doubt me. lol they think i'm crazy. which is great cuz unpredictable teachers can be intimidating. so one second i'm their best friend and the next second i'm a tough mean-head. lol and i think they're figuring out that i wasn't exactly a model student. i understand their thought processes too well. maybe it's cuz i invented them :}

    Brooklyn- U know that the best teachers were once the worst students, right? Lol, I was every teachers nightmare, and now I'm teaching sixth and seventh grade. Well, they tried me but it didn't take them 2 long 2 figure out that I'm familiar with these kind of things. I know every prank in the book (and the ones that aren't) They're all angels now. Yeah they think I'm totally nuts and I like it that way. Isn't that how it should be??

    bklyn both of those are grammatically correct actually. i think you menat to write
    too much oily foods
    or
    too many oily food.
    im a stickler for much and many, i drive my friends crazy although i dont see why adults should still be talking like kindergarteners (how much cookies did you eat today?)

    i didn't think anything i said was either "funny" or specifically "not funny" lol what's i say wrong, YBC?

    beacon - sorry i just couldn't resist

    abcd - i know exactly where you're coming from. they actually never tested me this year. maybe they heard about me from last year. last year's class did in the second week of school. it was pretty funny, actually. i think they were embarrassed when i said something about it at the end of the year.

    beacon, ive never heard of "hating" a word lol but if you listen to yourself say the sentence out loud, it will sound ridiculous. i guess typing it is different :)

    hey but i really didn't. i mean if i got a hundred on a test that's just as good as anyone who sat in class and got a hundred. lol ok maybe i didn't always get 100. but a 90 is good enough if i get to cut a month's worth of classes.

    do i sound like a dumb person???

    At some point, you begin to realize that 65 is the best possible grade. 66 means you studied too hard. What good was the extra effort?

    (Of course this doesn't apply to everything :)

    takes too much effort to purposely get 35% wrong :} i wouldn't work myself that hard to make it by the skin of my teeth. i'd rather just show up, do my thing and walk away :}
