Yeah, it’s still early but we’re looking where to be for Succos.

We do not have an option to build a Succah here at my home so we would like to go somewhere for the Yom tov.

Any suggestions of a place with a succah and food?

Anyone ever did this before and can give some tips?

Parents, in-laws, or if they are too far (or otherwise impractical) you can use a local Rov or shul. There is always someone around you can go to.

Max well- parents/in laws is out of the question for this year.(We did it previous years).

I’m looking for a hotel or place that gives accommodations for not too exorbant fees.

If you did it before, you can do it again. 🙂

Why spend a Yom Tov outside the kedusha of a yiddish home??

Go to your local Young Israel or shul that builds a sukkah for the shul kiddush. Their sukkahs are very big, and built with the understanding that people who don’t have access to a sukkah, can use theirs.

Have a little pushcart or stroller for food (as long as you use an eruv) and have fun. Or, if you are in a small, intimate, kiruv community join their communal events, or get invited out.

This is beauty of jeff Seidel and the Machlis family in Israel. They make everyone feel at ease and let them enjoy ‘winging it’. Be flexible and have fun. My wife is laughing how mellow I am getting in my old age!! But, that’s how you stay young.

Rent a bungalow, or even a house and cook your own food. Check out VRBO.com, or http://www.reservekosher.com.

Hotel Holiday Programs and Reasonable should NOT be said in the same breath. PLUS, despite the advertisements to the contrary, there is nothing ruchnius or heimishe about it.

The main thing is to be Ach Someiach!

We might, but not this year.

Anyway-max well and artchill? Are you saying that all these advertised, heimishe places are not ruchniusdig for succos? I’m new to this and that’s exactly why I’m asking people around here.

Can you state any reasons for that or any other info you have? Any place I should consider?

Artchill-that link you posted looks interesting. Thanks.

Reba, I think you didn’t check ticket prices for a long time. For a family of four just the tickets will be at least $6-7k and then you still need apartment and food. But if one can aford it there is noting like succus in Yerusaleiyim.

Oh well. It was a thought. If you strike it rich next year…… then you’ll probably upgrade to the Plaza etc

Sukkos in Israel is a pipe dream for most of us. It is big bucks and so are most of the hotel programs depending on how many are in your family. Don’t you have neighbors with sukkas that will invite you for meals? Or you can join if you cook for yourself?
