A friend of mine created a White House petition this morning to have the US stop supporting the UN. He asked me to help him get to 150 signatures so it would be made public. He doesn’t want to post the link himself here, as it says his name (he’s the only one who signed so far).
I don’t want to be the second one, or else everyone here will see my name also! Anyway, when there are about 20 signatures, I’ll be fine signing it also. Anyone else want to sign the petition? Here’s the link: http://wh.gov/RWIy

December 13, 2012 4:34 pm at 4:34 pm #913125Yserbius123ParticipantThe Whitehouse petitions are silly. The most they’ve ever done was to get a non-committal highly-sanitized political response from some unnamed Whitehouse officer.
And breaking away from the UN would possibly be the worst move ever. It will leave Israel completely vulnerable to Lebanese terrorists should the UN decide to pull out its peacekeeping forces.
Also, what you are proposing is the Libertarian approach. That the US should not get involved in foreign policy at all. This is a wonderful ideal if it weren’t for the fact that it also means cutting off aid to Israel and Egypt (whose American aid is one of the major factors in not attacking Israel).
December 13, 2012 5:36 pm at 5:36 pm #913126DaMosheParticipantActually, if the US would stop supporting the UN, it would probably collapse.
December 13, 2012 6:02 pm at 6:02 pm #913127bekitzurParticipantTell him to re-create the petition on Change.org. More people sign petitions there, and you don’t need an account to sign.

December 14, 2012 12:31 am at 12:31 am #913129N.GMemberIt will not be good with out the United Nations.
December 14, 2012 12:34 am at 12:34 am #913130N.GMemberYour not going to get 25,000 Jews to sign. Hopefully you are not relaying on the Coffee room.
