A tragedy hit the frum community of England. HaRav HaChossid Yissacher Dov (Barish) Englander z”l, 45, died as the result of a fatal drowning incident. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at the Brander Camp beach.
The niftar’s father, Rav Alish Englander, a strong supporter of חסידות מחנובקא, received the news in his London home and headed to the area of the tragedy, a six hour journey.
The niftar was the head of the chassidus’ kollel in London, and was known as a major supporter of many mosdos torah. His home was a frequent stopover for admorim. His brothers are HaGaon Rav Yaakov Yehoshua (Rosh Yeshivas Lomdei Torah of the chassidus in Eretz Yisrael), Rav Sholom, and Rav Pinchos (a grandson of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner Shlita). The niftar left eight children. One of the sons is scheduled to be married in two months.
Police released the body to the chevra kadisha on Thursday morning at 11am London time. The rebbe shlita is expected to be flying to London from Eretz Yisrael for the levaya.
According to Chadrei Chareidim, when Gavaad London HaGaon HaRav Padwa Shlita received the bitter news, he was attending the bris of a grandson in the Satmar Beis Medrash in Stamford Hill. He collapsed and required emergency medical treatment.
