YWN regrets to inform you of the Petira of Mrs. Chaya Newman A”H, the Menaheles at the Bruriah High School for over forty years and Torah Umesorah’s Director of the National Conference of Yeshiva Principals for Women, who was Niftar in Lakewood following an illness.
Mrs. Newman A”H is the mother of R’ Eliyahu – Menahel Yeshivas Mir, R’ Dovid (Lakewood), R’ Yehuda (Lakewood), R’ Yaakov, and Mrs. Shlomis Peikes. Her husband is Doctor Victor Newman. She resided in Brooklyn, and came to Lakewood several months ago.
She is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Nechama Frand, Mrs. Judy Kohn, and Mrs Sara Heiman-Nadav.
The Levaya will be taking place at Shomrei Hadas Chapel in New York, 3803 14th Avenue, at 11:30 AM Erev Shabbos.
