Councilman Mike Nelson Endorses Joe Hynes For Brooklyn DA


mneCity Councilman Michael Nelson today endorsed District Attorney Charles “Joe” Hynes’ re-election campaign. Councilman Nelson, whose district includes Sheepshead Bay, Midwood, Manhattan Beach and Brighton Beach called Hynes a great innovator and progressive District Attorney who has made Brooklyn one of the safest places in America.

“You can walk around the streets of Brooklyn today with a feeling of safety and security. That is thanks in large measure to the work of Joe Hynes. He has always put the people of Brooklyn first and will continue to do so when re-elected on November 5, ” said Nelson.

District Attorney Hynes said, “I am honored to have the endorsement of Councilman Michael Nelson. Together we will continue to keep Brooklyn safe. I pledge to maintain the integrity of the District Attorney’s office and will keep corrupt political bosses out.”

  1. As should all of us. Recall that Mr. Thompson said that as his first act he would to assign an assistant DA to each precinct to monitor activities of patrolmen in enforcing no stop and frisk. That would mean that the cop on the beat now has to be concerned with the judge’s ruling, the fear of a law suit , the monitor oversight, the civilian complaint review board, and the Assistant DA. Could anyone properly perform their task of policing under those circumstances. Clearly Mr. Thompsons priorities are not ours.
