More than 10,000 people are expected at a rally in Beit Shemesh on Monday to protest the exclusion of women as well as violence against girls and women by Charedi extremists. The rally will begin at 6 P.M., near the Orot Banot school. (Read letter to YWN previously published)
Also, On Monday night, MK Chaim Amsellem (Shas) visited the Margolese family at home and participated in their Chanukah-lighting ceremony. Amsellem gave Na’ama a siddur in which he wrote a dedication: “When you walk to school, an entire nation is behind you.”
The school’s arguably most-famous student is Na’ama Margolese, the 8-year-old American immigrant who became a focal point after Channel 2 news broadcast a story Friday night showing her facing a daily gauntlet of abuse from Charedi extremists as she walks to school. The rally was originally slated to take place in the courtyard of the school, but the venue was changed after organizers said Charedi extremists had threatened violence unless the location were changed.
The Greeks in all of us have WON this Channukka, as a “frum” nation we have actively or passively (by not protesting) allowing ourselves in all shades of “frum” to act like total complete ANIMALS, we’re not even fit to slaughter as we have blemished ourselves with the stain of false fumekite, go graze!!
sounds strange I live a 6 minute walk from that venue and never heard or saw any protest last night so I dont know where you get you information from. Also it is maybe 1 person bothering this girl not a whole town like you make out. Living here i have to read your sight to see waht is going on in our town since it is so quiet here.
the rally is tueday nite at 6.oo pm.
it look like these trouble makers have Way too much time and don’t work and just waste their time in kollel like most Israelis.
PLEASE, ENOUGH quoting from that sick, anti-Torah source of some of the worst internationally-broadcast near-daily LASHON HORA on Israel and the Jewish people!!!
Isn’t 6pm the time for being at home and lighting the menora for Zos Chanuka? Strange priorities the protesters have.
keepsmiling, you’re 100% right, i live nearby too, and the freie media wants to have a field day, so they turn 1 guy into a whole movement – and see for yourself on that now-famous clip of that girl crying, they mamash played tisha b’av or aveilus sounding violin music when she’s crying – now you tell me if that’s blowing it up or not
The pictures show married women dressed in all manner of broadly defined un-tzniusdik ways, uncovered hair, pants, low necklines etc. Spitting and screaming are undoubtedly wrong and not the attributes of yirei shomayim but then neither is walking around scantily dressed a Yiddishe virtue.
#6 – NO – actually in Israel, approximately 4:30 is the time to light.

Yes, it’s blowing it up. In other words, secular Israel is doing what anti-Semites have always done — use a meaningless minor incident to gin up hatred for believing Jews.
Unfortunately this was not an isolated incident, this girl was one of many who are constantly screamed at by these crazy fake chareidim. Girls have been spit at, have eggs thrown on them and had the word shiksa yelled at them in a very scary way. Some little girls not even from the school, were followed home by some of these men when they got off the bus from RBS. They were perfectly tzanua. If these things happened to your own daughters and sisters, I am sure you would be appalled. Many of the women in these neighborhoods are modern orthodox reflected by their clothing, however it is against the law to scream at them for it. Not one was wearing anything meant to be provocative. And a great number of the women who live there cover their hair fully and only wear tzanua clothing. What a terrible impression these men give to the many baalei teshuva who have joined the neighborhood! Hashem please send a yeshua!
this is the most retarded thing ever! these chariedim have some magor issues and this is a perfect example of why we are in galus today! i feel for these girls getting hit so what if some dont cover there knees or where their sleeves to short people do different things whats the big deal? im so shocked
