The Muslim Brotherhood is blaming Israel’s Mossad Intelligence Agency for the Kerem Shalom terror attack which claimed the lives of 16 Egyptian policemen in a Sinai base. These words were echoed by Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Gaza.
The terror organizations are trying to sell their theory, that Israel is responsible for the attack as part of the administration’s effort to “delegitimize” the new Egyptian government. Israel Foreign Ministry spokesman Yigal Palmor responded by saying “Even the person saying this when looking in the mirror doesn’t believe the nonsense he is saying”.
In actuality, the terror attack simply confirms the concerns of Israel’s intelligence community, which has been warning that following the fall of President Hosni Mubarak, Sinai, a once calm area, is rapidly becoming a regional terror base and the once demilitarized area is now the focus of serious concerns among heads of the intelligence and defense communities.
