In what was truly a historic event, a Siyum HaShas was held in Kever Rachel in PA (Palestinian Authority) occupied Beis Lechem. A seuda followed in the Ateres Shalom Hall in Yerushalayim.
Over recent weeks, persons who are committed to keeping the tziyun open and a vibrant venue for limud Torah visited gedolei yisrael shlita. The daily HaMevaser points out that the last cycle of shas that was completed in Kever Rachel was started 7.5 years ago in the home of Maran Rav Elyashiv ZATZAL, and it was the late posek hador to instructed the continuation of the limud at the holy site, explaining that while we remain in galus, the עיקר השכינה is in Kever Rachel and therefore, even one learning Torah in Meah Shearim must be aware that the place for ישועות is Kever Rachel.
Prior to the siyum, the khal recited Sefer Tehillim as is done daily by the lomdim, after which a son of the late posek hador made the siyum. HaGaon Rav Moshe Elyashiv Shlita completed the 12th cycle of daf yomi at Kever Rachel.
The tzibur then went to the catering hall and took part in the seudas mitzvah. Some of the rabbonim in attendance included Rav Azriel Aurbach, Rav Naftali Nussbaum Shlita, Rav Tzvi Braverman Shlita, and Rav Matisyahu Deutsch.
