Israel: Reduced Price for Non-Transport EMS Call

(Thursday, August 9th, 2012)

The Knesset Health Committee approved a bill seeking to reduce the price charged for calling an ambulance if the patient is not transported to hospital. The new arrangement will set a lower price for patients treated and not transported to a hospital by Magen David Adom.

It was also decided that MDA may opt to give a discount to senior citizens as well as for non-emergency transports, such as the transports to move a patient from one medical facility to another, usually arranged in advance due to the non-emergent nature of the transport.
