Winter Zman Gets Underway in Eretz Yisrael – What’s News in the Mir?

(Tuesday, October 16th, 2012)

Rosh Chodesh Cheshvan marked the beginning of the winter zman in yeshivos around the world, including in Eretz Yisrael. Tens of thousands of talmidim and avreichim returned to the benches of their respective beis medrash, buckling in for the winter zman.

Mir, the largest yeshiva in the world, located in the Beis Yisrael neighborhood of Yerushalayim completed building its new cafeteria or lunch room in the parking lot under the ‘בית ישעיה’ building.

On 11 Cheshvan, the first yahrzeit of the rosh yeshiva, HaGaon HaRav Nosson Tzvi Finkel ZT”L will be marked with the release of a sefer composed by leading talmidim in memory of the late Torah giant.
