The Jewish community in Belle Harbor celebrated, last Sunday, another post-Sandy milestone in celebrating the completion of its newly rebuilt Mikvah that was destroyed during hurricane Sandy, last fall.

The event was attended by Rabbi Osdoba, Chabad Rabbi of Belle Harbor, Rabbi Azriel of the Sephardic Shul, who praised the rapid rebound and the great zchus Mikvah USA took upon themselves to rebuild the Mikvah in such a short time.

Also speaking at the event were three individual Women from the West Cherry Hill community, where Mikvah USA just finished construction of a new beautiful Mikvah on premises, this winter, who lauded the effort of those who were involved and spoke of how it changed their daily lifestyle.

Rabbi Baruch Cywiak of MUSA told the crowd that this is Mikvah #27 on the list of Mikvahs the organization has helped build since it was founded.

In their mission statement, the organization cites “helping communities bring mikvah projects to fruition, thus strengthening their connection with God, their Jewish identity and their heritage. Our goal is to fulfill communities’ needs for mikvaos through construction, funding, and education.”
