Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz (D-Brooklyn) presented an oversized check for $250,000 this week to Leon Goldenberg (left) and Rabbi Shmuel Lefkowitz of Agudath Israel of America for the expansion of space for Agudath’s PCS (Professional Career Services)/COPE Institute, a career training program on 18th Avenue in Brooklyn.

Assemblyman Cymbrowitz provided the money through a capital grant.

“This is a worthwhile program that does more than provide job and career training. It transforms lives,” said Assemblyman Cymbrowitz. “With this funding, Agudath Israel will have the ability to serve a larger clientele, which will enable even more people to obtain jobs that provide a solid future and financial self-sufficiency.”

  1. Ah yes, election coming up in a few weeks. To quote Zaidy Himmelstein: “Always happy to help before an election”. “And that’s a campaign promise”.

  2. Cymbrowitz was married to a woman who was “Shomer shabbat”. After she died he married someone not of the Jewish faith.
    And Agudah has no problem.
