At least 6 victims were airlifted from a serious crash on Route 17, just after midnight on Friday morning.

Sources tell YWN that Catskill Hatzolah received numerous calls at around 12:15Am reporting a two vehicle crash on Route 17 Westbound between Exits 114 and 114.

Upon arrival, Hatzolah volunteers found two vehicles involved in the crash – one was a 15 passenger van, and the second was a minivan. Two victims were pinned inside the vehicles.

Paramedics began treating the victims on the scene, and requested two choppers to airlift two occupants with serious injuries.

It took the Wurtsboro Fire Department around 45 minutes to successfully extricate one of the victims who was heavily entrapped in the vehicle.

Both seriously injured victims were driven to the landing zone one mile away, and were being flown to the Albany Medical Center.

Four other victims were being taken by Hatzolah to local hospitals – all in stable condition.

In addition to Hatzolah, Mobilemedics and the Mamakating EMS were on the scene as well.

Sources tell YWN that the 15 passenger van had possible broken down and was stuck in middle of the roadway, and was rear-ended by the minivan. A dash-cam video that YWN has seen – taken just a minute before the crash – shows the 15 passenger van stuck in the roadway.

The NY State Police is on the scene conducting an investigation.

  1. Hope that the guys bopping up and down to their music enjoyed it, ’cause they didn’t seem to care about acting in a Jewish fashion to see if the people in the van were OK.

  2. First and foremost, we all wish a speedy and full recovery to all of those injured. Hashem should heal them quickly!

Second, we all owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to the countless Hatzolah members who dedicate themselves yomem v’lalila to helping ALL of us. its a true testament to the greatness of am yisroel. Additionally, we must all thank the local fire departments and medivac companies for their tireless efforts FOR US over the busiest 2 months of their lives, year in and year out. Thank you!!!

Third, shlomo 2, what in the article points to the notion that the driver of the vehicle with a dashcam is jewish? He merely submitted his video to the PD as evidence of what occurred. Maybe more important, what was he supposed to do at 55-75 miles per hour? Best he could do is call PD…

Fourth, mendoza, while i agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments 1-3, what relevance does it have here?

Fifth, please see “first” as it is the most important.
