3 Presidential Candidates Heading For Events In Albany


2016Road closures and parking restrictions are in effect in parts of downtown Albany as three of the U.S. presidential candidates plan to make appearances in New York’s capital.

Republican candidate John Kasich gets things started with Monday’s first appearance. The Ohio governor is scheduled to be at the Fort Orange Club on Washington Avenue at noon for a private event.

Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont brings his campaign for the Democratic Party nomination to the nearby Washington Avenue Armory at 2 p.m.

New York businessman Donald Trump is set to complete Albany’s presidential campaign trail hat trick when he holds a rally at the Times Union Center starting at 7 p.m.

Albany police officials are advising residents and commuters heading to downtown offices to expect traffic delays near the event sites throughout the day.
