Simcha Felder Begins First Day As Deputy Comptroller

New York, NY – Comptroller John C. Liu welcomed Simcha Felder today on his first day as Deputy Comptroller for Accounting & Budget.

“Simcha Felder hit the ground running today diving into issues related to the tough city budget and the financial control board.” Comptroller Liu said. “With the extraordinary budgetary challenges that the City is facing, the wealth of experience that he brings from both his City Council service and his previous tenure in the Comptroller’s Office will be invaluable in working out solutions in our tough economic environment.”

“I look forward to using my professional and educational experience to help Comptroller Liu make sure taxpayer money is not wasted, especially during these challenging economic times,” said Simcha Felder, newly-appointed Deputy Comptroller for Accounting & Budget.

Simcha Felder served in the New York City Council since 2002 and was previously Chairperson of the Council’s Committee on Governmental Operations. He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and holds a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) in Management from the renowned Zicklin School of Business at CUNY’s Baruch College.

Simcha Felder joins Comptroller Liu’s team of Deputies currently consisting of First Deputy Eric Eve, Tina Kim (audit), Carol Kostik (public finance), Ricardo Morales (legal affairs, General Counsel), Larry Schloss (pensions, Chief Investment Officer) and Geneith Turnbull (contracts and procurement).
