VIDEO & PHOTOS: Kosher Delight On 13th Ave Closes After Many Years

Shocked to hear that? So are many others. But that’s what the BoroParkScoop.com is reporting.

The legendary Kosher Delight (KD) Restaurant on 13th Avenue has closed their doors last night for the final time.

The store was full until their closing, and many people had no idea that the establishment  – which has been serving fast food to the orthodox community for decades – was even closing. Many others knew about it, and came out to get their “last meal”.

The KD Restaurant’s on Avenue J in Flatbush and the Manhattan store remain opened.

  1. I am actually happy that this happened. Maybe parents would start cooking up healthy suppers for their kids and not consume all that lethal garbage

  2. I’ve been boycotting them for years because there is no excuse for the crazy prices they have been charging good riddance to them Big Fleishigs here I come!!!!

  3. Lets see, high prices? Check!
    Lack of customer service? Check!
    Cheap food? Check!
Lack of an updated menu? Check!

Its a wonder their open so long! As for Big Fleishigs being any better, its not.

  4. People, people – a frum business owner just shut down his store. And you’re celebrating? The fact that the store may or may not have had issues with pricing, quality, customer service is irrelevant. It doesn’t either matter if the owner is rich, poor, or whatever. Keep your nasty comments to yourself and have a little empathy. (Besides, if you had such problems w/ the store, why did you go there? And if you tell me you didn’t go there, then why does it matter to you one iota that he shut down?!)

  5. Don’t you think it’s likely, #5, that this greasy spoon will be replaced by another frum store? Unless, oh no, it’s another bank.

  6. What a shame! They were very convenient in case of emergency and not all the food was fattening. Their price were not bad and there were junior deals too.
The food was better than other fast food places.
Sorry to see them close. We enjoyed kids birthdays there!

  7. #5, ever noticed who they employ? Aside from the mashgiach/ manager the workers are nochrim. The owners are very wealthy and from a business perspective they felt the necessity to close down. Its not like scores of yidden will be unemployed.

  8. I loved Kosher Delight, they made the BEST chicken in garlic sauce and wonton soup!!! We used to love to order from there. Cant believe it!!

  9. #11:

So let’s disregard the mashgiach/manager, shall we. Not to mention the frum companies who sold them their papergoods, meats, chicken, raw food items…..

  10. This store was my first experience of a kosher takeaway on my trip to america. I was shocked to see a kosher place so massively advertised in the middle of a city. Americans are spoilt rotten.

  11. When I first started keeping kosher 29 years ago, the person who was m’karev me took me out for dinner as a treat. I felt like wow a kosher place like Burger King and McDonalds, I was thrilled!

  12. Why are we bashing KD? Their food is delicious and healthy. Can still try the other locations which in my opinion have even better tasting food.

  13. Wow, it looks like BoroParkScoop.com is the new place in town to get all the Boro Park hock. Mazel Tov, and keep up the good site.
