In the continuation of the Holyland real estate trial, the secret state witness on Tuesday, focused his testimony of former Jerusalem Mayor Rabbi Uri Lupoliansky. According to the testimony, Lupoliansky at the time was director the planning board subcommittee and he was told that any assistance he could give to advance the project would be most appreciated.
The state witness told the court that Lupoliansky received 2 – 2.5 million NIS in the form of donations to Yad Sarah, the nationwide chessed organization that he started. The witness explained that when he offered money to Lupoliansky, he immediate said “give the money to Yad Sarah”.
Next week, verdicts are expected in a number of other cases against Holyland defendant Ehud Olmert, including the Rishon Tours case.
