R’ Gavriel Sassoon Gives YWN Edited Version of ‘Cry No More’ Recording Without Kol Isha

article-blaze1-0322The attached audio / video has been given to YWN by R’ Gavriel Sassoon, and has been edited of all Kol Isha. Last Year on Chanukah the entire Sassoon family gathered in a music studio,  and recorded themselves singing Yaakov Shwekey’s “Cry No More”.

Mr. Sassoon was distraught after learning that the audio with his wife and daughters singing had gone viral, and made sure that a new version was edited in a music studio today. The audio was subsequently given to YWN to share.

Listen to the song as it takes on a whole new meaning in light of recent events….

  1. @kehath64 – We certainly all want the final/ultimate redemption to come bimheirah b’yameinu. The question is why? Because we have grown, developed, and matured in our avodas HaShem to the extent we are ready to live b’yimos ha’Moshiach to our fullest in final preparation for l’asid la’vo and olam ha’ba, or because we feel we have been given too much (i.e. unjustly and undeservedly) and therefore can brazenly demand the ge’ulah? (We know better than the Dayan Ha’Emes and the Tov v’HaMeitiv.) With all due respect, the concept of Moshiach and yearning for it, is widely misunderstood and misused. B’yimos ha’Moshiach, like Yom Tov, we may do what is needed for ochel Nefesh, but not produce new (i.e. we deal with what we have). Olam Ha’ba is like Shabbos where there are no changes, no malachah at all. What we became in this world, and perfected in the days of Moshiach, we reap the benefits from in Olam Ha’ba.
