#3, This is the reason why many don’t say tachanun at mincha, but really if you’re considering it “day” for the purpose of davening mincha then why turn around and say it’s “night” and thus not be able to say tachanun? Did it become night between Shmoneh Esrei and tachanun?

The main reason for not saying nefilas apayim was because the Chasiddim generally davened Mincha late. Tachanun is notsaid at night.From that the “minhag” spread that even when Mincha was davened early, they did not vsay Tachanun because “we do not vsay tachanun at Mincha” But the Rebbe got it right. He said Avreichim and talmidim who daven Mincha gedola (mid-day) should say tachanun! This is the Rebbe thinking in Halacha and not “my zeide’s zeide the Hotzenplotzer Rebbe did or didn’t do something. Kol haKavod!!!
