Avreich Rav Chaim Zilberberg z”l, 23, was niftar on Thursday 18 Tishrei 5773, the third day chol hamoed Sukkos. The tragic petira occurred during Camp ‘רפואה וישועה’ for children with illnesses or special needs. The niftar was a volunteer in the camp.
The niftar was the son of R’ Avrohom Binyomin of Haifa and son-in-law of Rav Nussbaum of Yerushalayim. His grandfather was HaGaon R’ Shmuel Dovid Rust, a rav of Gur in Haifa.
Chassidim on Thursday morning after the tragic petira waited to hear from the Gerrer Rebbe Shlita if the three-day camp should continue.

The niftar’s paternal grandfather lives in NY and he has a large extended family in NY as well as Eretz Yisroel.
I’m surprised that given the sad, tragic nature of his untimely petirah that this did not receive world-wide coverage by YWN.
