Rabbi Appel zl wrote 2 vols translating the Kitzur. The 1st vol was on basic everyday halachos; the 2nd vol was on hilchos Shabbos.

They are unique because in addition to the text of the Kitzur he brings modern day shailos on the bottom and maareh m’komos at the end so everything is referenceable.

His petira is a loss for Klal Yisroel and for me personally because that 1st vol. was the very first sefer in English I ever purchased. Probably going back 25 years at least. Yehei zichro boruch.

Yes – that is correct. He published 2 volumes of a translation/elucidation of Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, as well as a couple of other seforim. And he was Rav in KG, among other places. I belive Boston, Seattle and NYC.
