Baruch Dayan Emmes: Mekubal Rav Shimon Hirari ZT”L, 88, was niftar on Tuesday morning 19 Adar. The rav was a known mekubal and was a driving force in in introducing the daily reading of Zohar. He hosted Siyumim in which his talmidim completed the entire Zohar.

His talmidim explain his pashtus exemplified his gadlus in all aspects of Torah and they point out that in his over 50 seforim the niftar never referred to himself with a title, simply his name.

The niftar was close to Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef ZT”L and following the petira of his son Rav Yaakov Yosef ZT”L Rav Hirari came to be menachem him and the two spoke for a period of time.

The levaya began at noon from the niftar’s home on Nekaveh Street in Tel Aviv. The kvura was in the Beersheva Cemetery.
