Petira Of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Shaul Greinaman ZATZAL

candle914Despite the unseasonably cold weather and rains, thousands are expected to take part in the Sunday morning 23 Nissan levaya of HaGaon HaRav Chaim Shaul Greinaman ZT”L in Bnei Brak. The Torah giant was niftar suddenly on Shabbos at the age of 89.

The levaya is set to get underway at 11:00. Police on motzei Shabbos consulted with organizers of the levaya to make sure the tragic events that occurred during the recent levaya of HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Halevy Wosner ZT”L are not repeated. Two people were killed and dozens injured as they were trampled during that levaya. The kever prepared for the niftar is close to that of his uncle, the Chazon Ish ZT”L.

The aron of the niftar was brought on Sunday morning to the private mikve under his beis medrash where the tahara is being done. From their niftar will be placed in a vehicle, not in a beis medrash in line with the niftar’s wishes. In addition, vehicles with public address systems will not travel around to announce his levaya.

At 10:00 police will shut down a number of streets to vehicles, including Ezra, Chazon Ish, Dessler to Sderot Yerushalayim and Nechemia. At 08:00 police closed the road from Devorah to Chidushei HaRim.

Police announce those heading to Bnei Brak from northern areas should enter via Geha Junction to Hashomer Street and then to Ezra Street. From the south, one should use Aluf Sadei Interchange or the Givat Shmuel Bridge. Police will not permit private vehicles into the levaya area. Buses will be standing by to return persons to northern or southern areas.
