Terror warning: Don’t visit India

The Foreign Ministry released an urgent terror alert Wednesday, warning Israelis not to travel Goa, India. The ministry said they had received concrete information regarding an imminent Al-Qaida terror attack in the region. Foreign Ministry officials said that the warning applied until the end of December.

Yerushalayim: Security guard stabbed

About 10 minutes ago an Israeli security guard was stabbed in the neck at tha A-Ram Checkpoint just North of Yerushalayim. Preliminary reports are that he is in critical condition. An ALS bus is enroute to the Kalandia Checkpoint to meet the guards who have transferred him from A-ram.

Kol Koreh signed!!

elal1.jpgGedoley Rabbonim in Eretz Yisroel have signed the Kol Koreh on Wednesday morning calling for a boycott of El Al, but it is being kept in the safe of the The Committee for the Sanctity of Shabbos and will not be distributed yet in order to allow El Al to run back to the negotiating table. The Gedolim have unofficially given El Al have another day and a half to agree to sign the agreement. After that the Kol Koreh will be released throughout the world. (more…)

El Al update 12/13/06

It is being reported that the boycott of El Al is growing, and according to reports in the Charedi press it has reached beyond the boundaries of Eretz Yisroel. Today a conference of Frum travel agents is expected to take place, with the participation of Gedoley Rabbonim and the heads of the “Committee for the Sanctity of the Sabbath”, at which they will apparently declare a formal boycott of the company. Trees replaced at airport after Rabbi complains

“The trees” are going back up at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Pat Davis, president of the Port of Seattle commission, which directs airport operations, said late Monday that maintenance staff would restore the 14 plastic holiday trees, that were removed over the weekend because of a rabbi’s complaint that holiday decor did not include a menorah.
