Shul to actually be a yeshiva upsets neighbors

An inspection last week by the Ramapo deputy building inspector found that a proposed Shul on Forshay Road would actually be used as a Yeshiva, which is not allowed under the town’s zoning. (more…)

hutner1.jpgTonight (Sunday) is the Yartzheit for Hagoen R’ Yitzchok Hutner ZATZAL Rosh Yeshivas Chaim Berlin and Mechaber Seforim Pachad Yitzchok. A Maamor was given by Hagon R’ Aron Schecter Shlita Rosh Yeshivas Chaim Berlin in the Yeshiva after Maariv.

Bobover Rebbe’s daughter engaged

bobovtenayim.jpgTonight was the Tenoyim of the daughter of the Bobover Rebbe, Hagoen Reb Bentzion Halberstam Shlita, to the son of R’ Eli LIpschitz Shlita, a Bobover Chosid. The Tenoyim took place in the Bobover Bais Medrash located at 48th Street & 15th Avenue.

Please be Mispallel for Hagoen R’ Yackov Yitzchok Neiman Shlita (Belzer Dayan in Montreal). He suffered a stroke on Friday and is in critical but stable condition. His name is Yackov Yitzchok Ben Chayla Gele.

One person was killed and at least five others injured in a serious car accident at the southern Lehavim junction Sunday morning and at the entrance to Afula, a bicyclist was hit by a car and killed.

Lakewood Hatzolah: Shabbos Goy passes away

lakewoodhatzolahbus.jpgThis Shabbos morning, Lakewood Hatzolah lost a dear and devoted friend. The person (otherwise known as “George”) who was responsible for driving the Hatzolah Members vehicles back from the calls to their homes on Shabbos passed away suddenly from a massive heart attack. George, his wife, and two children have been serving the Lakewood Tzibur with devotion for more then 20 years. The thousands of Yidden that he’s helped directly and indirectly for the past 20+ years will never be forgotten. May he rest in peace.

New Hampshire elects Frum person

Swastika found in Flatbush

A Flatbush resident stepped out of his home on East 13th between Ave’s J & K recently to discover that someone had carved a swastika into the concrete. The incident  which took place on 11/18/06 is being investigated as a possible bias incident. The swastika has been removed.
