There is another vile slur in this article which is utterly apolitical: “Disaffected Americans treat today as a three day weekend and a time for barbecue.” There are plenty of people barbecuing this weekend who are not “disaffected Americans”. The writer apparently started in on the beer before he wrote this piece.

Actually the Westboro folks despise our troops as well – and the cast of characters you mention despise the efforts of our troops rather than the troops themselves.

They would fare very well under the Caliphate that our enemies want to establish. So would Charlie.

I’m sorry, but this is a vile slander that does not belong on this site. I just checked out huffingtonpost and their banner story is about the horrible permanent disfiguring injuries that our soldiers have suffered from the evil Taliban bombs in Afghanistan. It is the Taliban that despises our troops, not Americans who disagree with you on other matters.

Oh, there was one antiwar essay on huffingtonpost — by Doug Bandow, a senior fellow at the extreme right wing Cato Institute. (huffingtonpost actually has a wide variety of opinions from a lot of sources.)
