Daily News Backs Donovan In State AG Race

(Sunday, October 24th, 2010)

Republican Dan Donovan has received the Daily News’ endorsement in the race for NYS Attorney General.

In backing the Staten Island District Attorney, the paper cites Donovan’s legal abilities and status as an Albany outsider as sure signs he can bring reform to the state capitol.

The News says he has shown a pattern of nonpartisan criminal justice that “indicates Donovan has legal smarts and a solid commitment to ethics — a combination that fits exactly with the Attorney General’s duties.”

The News says Donovan’s Democratic opponent — State Senator Eric Schneiderman — is one of the smartest people in the legislature with several recent accomplishments, including his work that led to the expulsion of former State Senator Hiram Monserrate.

But it also questions his ability to bring reform, citing his support for Pedro Espada Junior as Senate Majority Leader.

I don’t really know much about either AG candidate, what I do know, is that Schniederman is a liberal democrat who is bringing his ideologies with him to the job.

I am sick of our President and his ideologies, I am sick of Kirsten Gillibrand (NY US Senator) and her ideologies. The NYC mayor, Mayor Bloomberg and his ideologies, and I am sick of the DOT Commissioner Janette Sadik-Kahn, and her twisted bicycle paradise fantasy. I need a break from all these liberal “freedom seekers” making us bend over backwards so that “we can all live in peace and harmony”.

I will NOT be voting for Schniederman, I have enough radical liberalism to last me a while.

    the commissioner #1,

Bloomberg supports Donovan. And Schneiderman supports government aid to religious schools (which would require amending the NY Constitution).

Just because one is a Democrat does not mean one is a “radical liberal”. Both Schneiderman and Donovan are running as moderates, which I like.

Charlie, if Schneiderman is a moderate then what is a liberal?!

Soon you’ll say that the Daily News is biased for the Republicans as well…
