Israeli Homes Will Be Paying Less For Water As Of June 1, 2017

As a result of the Knesset passing legislation in January, Israeli homes will be paying 14.5% less for water beginning June 1, 2017.

The cut is the final phase in a 30% cut in water rates for the past four years. The new rate will be NIS 6.54 per cubic meter up to 3.5 cubic meters per person.

Rates to farmers will also be cut from NIS 2.51 to NIS 1.98 per cubic meter in stage one. There will be an additional cut in two years.
