Police say assailants opened fire on an Israeli vehicle in the Hebron area, killing one person and wounding two.

Police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld says the people in the car were members of the same family. He says a man was killed, while his wife and one of his children were injured.

Israeli media say the woman was pregnant and that several children were in the car.

Israel TV’s Channel 10 says the family was en route to Hebron, where they were to be having the Pesach Seder a few hours later.

The military says troops are searching for the terrorists.
