Authorities are continuing the search for the terrorist who opened fire near the Tarkumiya Checkpoint on erev Pesach, murdering Israel Police Chief Superintendent Baruch Mizrachi HY”D. Officials are looking at PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) to act, expecting PA security forces to actively engage in apprehending the suspect.

On Wednesday, the 1st Day Chol Hamoed Pesach in Israel, a delegation of left-wing MKs met in Ramallah with Abu Mazen. The MKs, who call themselves The Lobby for the Promotion of a Solution for the Israeli-Arab Conflict included MKs Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz), Tamar Zandberg (Meretz), Nachman Shai (Labor), Michal Biran (Labor) and Hilik Bar (Labor). They believe Abu Mazen is committed to peace and he is the true partner with whom Israel must reach agreement.

Following the murderous erev yomtov attack, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu blamed the attack on continuing PA incitement against Israel. The MKs apparently do not share the prime minister’s position.
