Jerusalem to Publish Chareidi Tourism Pamphlet

charJerusalem Councilman (Yahadut Hatorah) Eliezer Ruchberger reports that city tourism officials have agreed to publish a pamphlet that is geared to chareidi visitors to the capital. Ruchberger, who also serves as director of the Jerusalem Development Authority, reports receiving many complaints including from Rav Chaim Miller, who heads the Movement on Behalf of Jerusalem & its Residents. They point out that tourism information published and distributed by the city to date is not suitable for chareidim, referring to both content and photos contained in the publications.

The project was handed to a city sub-company, the Jerusalem Development Authority, which will be working with national government officials toward publishing material suitable for the chareidi tzibur on yomim tovim and year-round.

The publication will include more religious and holy sites and other venues suitable for chareidim. It will also advertise mehadrin eateries and other information in line with the needs of chareidi visitors to the capital.
