Public Recitation of Tehillim Added to Tonight’s RCCS Flatbush BBQ

flatbush-bbq-web[COMMUNICATED CONTENT] Although every RCCS event includes the recitation of Tehillim for cholei Yisroel in general, and cancer-stricken patients, in particular, tonight’s Flatbush/Crown Heights BBQ program has been lengthened to include prayers on behalf of the wounded soldiers in Eretz Yisroel.

The tragic events in Eretz Yisroel put a damper on the usual festive event, and the knowledge that in the past 12 months, RCCS has assisted close to 1,200 cancer patients, in the USA and in Israel, make it the worst year in RCCS’ 17 years of existence.

Once again, two neighboring communities, Crown Heights and Marine Park, will join the effort on East 22nd Street and Avenue I, in front of the home of Pinny & Yaffa Rand, and will benefit the scores of cancer-stricken patients in the Flatbush, Marine Park and Crown Heights communities.

The annual Flatbush RCCS BBQ has gained the reputation as being the largest and, arguably, most vital barbecue on the community calendar. Delicious entrees, mouth-watering accoutrements, and exciting raffle prizes and entertainment combine for an evening of chessed and inspiration. Wine tasting, a sushi bar, and other delectable delights will add to the festivities.

An exciting program has been planned with a mini auction and a grand raffle of a car lease plus entertainment by the Mezamrim choral group, with guest star, Heshy Goldstein. Community service awards will be presented to Sergeant Yitzy Jablon of the NYPD Community Affairs Division, to Jerry Weissman, President of Omni Health Care, and to Yoel Brull, founder of A Hope to Heal.

Rabbi Moshe Klein will lead the public recitation of Tehillim in behalf of all Cholei Yisroel and the wounded soldiers in Eretz Yisroel.

RCCS Flatbush Division is in memory of Tziporah Faiga Gelb a”h and the BBQ is in memory of Chedva Freidel Rand a”h. The Crown Heights Chapter is in honor of the Rubashkin Family.

Each year, RCCS saves the lives of hundreds of cancer-stricken patients in need by subsidizing their health insurance premiums, thus providing them access to the best possible medical care. Today, RCCS subsidizes insurance policies for over 350 cancer-stricken patients each year, and provides hundreds more with emergency medical subsidies, insurance advocacy, social services, and medical direction.

Make sure to come TONIGHT,  July 22, 2014 and help those who need your help in the most extreme form. For more information, call 718 722 2002.

RCCS, a recognized 501(c)3 organization, provides an array of services for cancer-stricken patients in need; primary among them is the subsidizing of health insurance premiums, enabling them to obtain the best possible medical care.
