Jewish Group Wants City To Condemn Anti-Israel Bridge Flag

adlA prominent Jewish group wants city leaders to condemn a politically charged banner that showed up on the Manhattan Bridge during a Pro-Palestinian march.

The Anti-Defamation League denounced Wednesday’s demonstration and the giant “Boycott, Divest, Sanction” banner as an attempt to “delegitimize Israel.”

The banner appeared as hundreds of people marched Wednesday on the neighboring Brooklyn Bridge. It was taken back up a short time later.
The BDS movement is an international effort against Israel over the Gaza settlements.

Anti-Defamation League Regional Director Evan Bernstein says there’s no place in New York City for the movement’s “fervently anti-Israel message.”

He says the BDS message blocks any chance at productive discussions of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Police say no one’s been arrested in connection with the banner display.

An investigation is continuing.

  1. It didn’t take them long to catch the ones that put up the white flags on the Brooklyn Bridge. Let’s see how long it takes them to catch the ones that did this. Let’s see if they even try.

  2. If these culprits aren’t found soon and prosecuted to the full extent of the law – it will open a whole new avenue for copycats to perpetrate even worse public acts towards Jews and Israel.

  3. “Bratton is a weak incompetent bafoon.”

It was Bratton who expanded the implementation of the broken windows theory from the Transit Police to the NYPD as a whole. It was Bratton who hired thousands of new police officers. It was Bratton who implemented the CompStat system, allowing the NYPD to deploy officers to the areas with the worst crime problems. Crime had started to decline before he was appointed Commissioner, but the decline increased while he was in that post and his reforms accelerated. Unfortunately Giuliani didn’t like to share credit with others, and forced Bratton out.

May we have more such incompetence.
