Date Selected for Jerusalem Rabbinate Elections

calandarThe Jerusalem Election Committee which is responsible for arranging elections for new chief rabbis of the capital has decided on a date for that election. In a meeting held in the presence of Mayor Nir Barak and other officials, the decision was made to hold the election 27 Tishrei 5775, which corresponds to October 21, 2014. This is in line with a commitment made to the Supreme Court by the Ministry of Religious Services to expedite the election.

The mayor praised the decision, pointing out it has been well over a decade since the city held elections for chief rabbis. His words were echoed by Deputy Minister of Religious Services Rabbi Eli Ben-Dahan.

Once may expect to see the date challenged in the High Court as has been the case during the past years.

  1. There could have and should have been a chief rabbi long ago.
However, whenever it was probable that a genuine great Talmud Chacham would be annointed

the Kippot srugot in cahoots with the courts and Barkat
postponed the vote over and over
and kept changing the rules “Lavan”like

If there any “innocents”out here who are still gullible

enough or willfully ignorant to defend the heroic righteous (small) Srugot and demean the corrupt filthy charedi shennanigans….

    The Bizayon!

Or is this but a symptom of most of religious zionism (that Jekkyl and Hyde)as a whole?
