Tuesday Morning News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


ywnisrael.israel· The IDF Homefront Command is beginning a preparedness exercise at 19:00 in Ashkelon that will continue until 02:00 on Thursday. Soldiers taking part will be wearing protective suits.

· A 2½-year-old sustained light injuries when Arabs hurled rocks at a bus on Uzi Narkiss Blvd. in Yerushalayim on Monday night. The child was transported to Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital, injured from flying glass.

· 25 suspects have been taken into custody in an unfolding bribery case involving Israel Railway employees.

· Seven suspects believed involved in terrorism and connected to Hamas and other terror organizations were arrested in Yehuda and Shomron during the night.

· A 36-year-old Netanya resident called up for emergency IDF service during Operation Protective Edge is in custody, suspected of stealing 12 stun grenades and ammunition.

· The Talansky cash envelope bribery case against former PM Ehud Olmert reopens in the Jerusalem District Court.

· Finance Minister Yair Lapid tells an economic forum that allocating 4,000 dunam in Gush Etzion as “state land” will prove harmful to Israel.
