In what may be the first case of a Gazan shot dead by the IDF since Operation Protective Edge, a Gazan who approached a restricted border area near Jabalya was shot by the IDF on Sunday Rosh Chodesh Kislev. According to reports from Gaza, the man was killed by the IDF gunfire.
Reports indicate soldiers acted appropriately in their response to seeing two images in the restricted security area, firing to distance the illegals from the fence, striking one in a leg. He is reported in light condition in a Gaza hospital but the reports states a second person who was with him was shot dead.
There is no Israeli confirmation of the fatality claim at the time of this report.
