EJA Director Slams ‘Foolish Decision’ to Remove EU Terrorist Designation from Hamas

hamRabbi Menachem Margolin, of the European Jewish Association, slammed the decision by the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg to remove Hamas from its list of designated terror organizations.

The General Director of the Brussels-based organization issued a statement Wednesday criticizing the “foolish decision” that essentially legitimizes the group, which was outlawed by the EU in 2003.

“This foolish decision, will undoubtedly, strengthen international terror that can harm people all over the world. I believe that lawmakers did not think this decision through,” insisted Rabbi Margolin.

“Over the next couple of months, we will use our meetings with high-level EU officials to demonstrate to Europe, and the rest of the world, the true nature of the Hamas organization and its activities,” he added.

Hamas, which forms part of the EU-recognized Palestinian Authority government, has long been designated a terrorist organization by both the US and Israel.
