Egged Drivers Call Off Strike Planned for Monday


eggedGood news this Monday morning for commuters are management and the union representing over 6,500 salaried drivers reached an understanding during the night that averted the strike planned for today, 6 Shevat.

The salaried drivers employed by Egged threatened a one-day warning strike on Monday, a strike that would have severely impacted bus service nationwide.

Egged CEO Avi Friedman explained that while the cooperative remains committed to increased fiscal efficiency it does not plan to fire drivers as feared.
