IDF Soldier Wounded by Cross-Border Fire from Lebanon [UPDATED 12:52M IL]


breaking12:26PM IL: An IDF soldier was reportedly wounded by cross-border fire originating in Lebanon. It appears the shots were fired from a vehicle on the Lebanon side of the border in the Metula area.

The incident is being probed by the military at this time. Additional details to follow as they become available.

12:33PM IL: According to News 0404, the shorts were fired from a moving vehicle, directed at soldiers operating on the Israeli side of the border. One soldier was hit by gunfire and lightly wounded. The area of the shooting incident has moved to alert status.

12:39PM IL: Ynet military correspondent Yoav Zeitoun reports the IDF force returned fire. He adds the soldier was wounded by shrapnel in a hand.

12:52PM IL: The wounded soldier is being transported to Ziv Hospital in Tzfat. END
