OUTRAGEOUS! Brooklyn College Doesn’t Want NYPD To Use Campus Bathrooms; Jewish Community Steps Up [VIDEO]

The New York Post reports Brooklyn Collge, a publicly-funded school, has informed cops they “prefer” they don’t use regular restrooms, and instead stick to those in the isolated West End Building.

Donald Wenz, the school’s director of public safety, acknowledged this is to keep the Men in Blue “out of sight.”

The Post visited the first-floor men’s room in the WEB and discovered a broken toilet with a hideously stained seat and an “OUT OF ORDER” sign taped to the door of its stall.

There was also a total lack of soap and paper towels.

A student told The Post, “the bathroom is horrendous, you can only wash your hands in one of the sinks because the other two are broken.”

Meanwhile, The Excelsior, the school’s newspaper, reported students are taking things a step further.

A petition being circulated urges the school to keep keep police from even patrolling the campus.

“We do not want the NYPD on campus in any respect even if it’s just to take breaks and use bathroom,” a student said.

The Post spoke to a 21-year-old senior student who said “people get triggered” by cops.

“I know students from every background and across every major,” she said. “They don’t feel comfortable around cops. They just don’t. It makes safe spaces feel not so safe.”

Other students said they get “scared” and feel “weird” seeing cops on campus.

Following this news, the Flatbush Jewish Community Coalition (FJCC) released a statement that they had reached out to local precinct commanders and informed them that Synagogues and Yeshivas in the greater Flatbush community would welcome officers as a show of solidarity and appreciation for New York’s Finest.

“Our community has always been supportive of the NYPD” said Josh Mehlman, Chairman of the FJCC, “Our institutions have always welcomed police officers, there is a real sense of appreciation for those that dedicate their lives for public service.” The FJCC has notified the local precinct commanders of the community’s offer and they were very grateful for the support and solidarity.

  1. If you check Brooklyn College’s twitter, you will find that the president of the school basically debunks the story though would not clarify if their welcome of public employees limited them to that one bathroom or to all. The 70th precinct posted that it had a good meeting with the school so not sure how accurate this article is.

  2. If gd forbid there is a problem at brooklyn college, I wonder who are they going to call to save them?? Who will they really be scared of if gd forbid something happens
